Wick Farm Oast, Near Rye, East Sussex
This derelict oak-framed barn dating back to 1750 with Oast House and outbuildings, was converted into a family home. The Grade II listed plot is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and was in a semi-collapsed state when the project began. Major structural and conservation work was undertaken to convert this working farm into a dwelling. The 6,000-ft2 property now includes six bedrooms, a barn building housing sports and entertainment space, a studio and workshop outbuildings. The garden and landscaping were designed from scratch with the former cattle yard being converted into a summerhouse with swimming pool.
